Kolkata’s vibrant rainbow-coloured Gariahat Flyover has lost its colourful makeover following safety concerns. The municipal authorities decided to strip away the paint from the bridge after several two-wheeler riders experienced dangerous skidding incidents on the decorated surface during recent rainfall. To prevent further accidents and ensure commuter safety, the civic body carried out the removal operation late at night. The flyover, a prominent landmark located in south Kolkata, has now returned to its standard grey surface appearance.
