Former President Ram Nath Kovind has shared a personal account of his family's history, explaining how his father deliberately chose education over agricultural land for his five sons. According to Kovind, his father had inherited approximately 10 to 12 bighas of land but ultimately decided to donate the property to deserving beneficiaries rather than splitting it among his children.
The former president noted that his father's primary goal was to ensure that his sons focused on their studies, ventured outside of their native village, and avoided sinking deeper into the cycle of rural poverty. By prioritizing learning over traditional property inheritance, the family forged a different path that eventually shaped Kovind's journey to the highest office in the country.
