The Supreme Court of India has formally sought an explanation from several opposition INDIA bloc leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, and Mahua Moitra, regarding their recent protest march and the ensuing disruption inside the court premises on October 12.

During the proceedings, the top court raised questions concerning the behavior and intentions of the political figures and co-petitioners who entered the property accompanied by a large crowd after the registry had already closed, which resulted in significant commotion at the filing center.

The court hearing encompassed multiple connected petitions addressing the protest event, allegations of illegal detentions, metro station closures, railway disruptions, and reported attacks on journalists.

While issuing formal notices in the matters to give all involved parties an opportunity to respond, the bench emphasized that it was by no means condoning the disruptive actions that took place during the course of the march.
