New Delhi: Leaders and parliamentarians of the opposition INDIA bloc gathered for a key meeting at the old parliament building ahead of an evening appointment with President Droupadi Murmu. The delegation plans to present the united opposition's concerns regarding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and issues surrounding the SIR exercise.

An initial group of six leaders was shortlisted for the delegation, including Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Samajwadi Party MP Rajiv Rai, and CPI(M) leader M.A. Baby. Additional representatives are expected to join the group, while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav could not attend due to prior personal commitments.

Meanwhile, security arrangements were intensified along the route to Rashtrapati Bhavan, with Delhi Police placing barricades near Vijay Chowk and Raisina Hill as the parliamentarians prepared for their scheduled meeting with the president.
