Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy addressed the Congress party's ongoing demonstrations in Delhi, declaring that their objective to secure the removal of Gyanesh Kumar remains steadfast. He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner behaves more like a representative of the ruling party than the head of an independent constitutional institution. Emphasizing the broader perspective of the party's nationwide stance, he asserted that Rahul Gandhi is fighting on behalf of the public and the votes of common citizens, rather than pursuing personal power or narrow party interests. Criticizing restrictions placed on demonstrations and the detention of opposition figures, he confirmed that leaders from Telangana will continue to intensify their agitation over the upcoming days.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have rejected permission for a planned protest by the Cockroach Janata Party at Jantar Mantar, pointing to a failure to comply with the mandatory ten-day notice protocol and citing prevailing law and order concerns. Joint Commissioner of Police Nupur Prasad stated that the intimation was submitted on short notice, which violated established guidelines. As a result, extensive security arrangements and preventive restrictions have been enforced throughout Central Delhi, where Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita remains active.
The police administration has ordered the closure of fifty-seven metro stations, canceled multiple Delhi-bound trains from their originating stations, and deployed two hundred companies of the Central Armed Police Forces alongside Rapid Action Force units and anti-riot vehicles. Additionally, businesses in Central Delhi, such as liquor shops and restaurants, face potential shutdowns to prevent public disruptions. Law enforcement has also issued public appeals urging residents, especially youths and devotees, to refrain from joining unlawful assemblies.
