Xiaomi is officially bringing its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, to Indian shores. The announcement came during Snapdragon Day at the India Mobile Congress 2026, where Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India, confirmed that the handset will hit the Indian market in the coming months.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro joins a select group of upcoming devices, including the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27, slated to be the first wave of smartphones in India powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.
Unlike many bulky modern flagships, the Xiaomi 18 Pro goes for a relatively compact footprint. On the front, it features a 6.4-inch flat 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
Flip the phone over, and you will find a secondary 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display right next to the camera module. This smaller screen matches the primary panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,000 nits peak brightness, allowing users to check notifications, interact with widgets, frame high-resolution selfies using the main cameras, or set custom graphics. Xiaomi has also introduced its new Super Pixel Display 2.0 on the device, a hardware-level privacy feature that uses specialised micro-baffles and privacy pixels to narrow viewing angles on demand.
Performance duties are handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm architecture with Oryon CPU cores reaching up to 5.01GHz. Xiaomi pairs the processor with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, alongside a redesigned ring-shaped cold pump cooling system to handle thermals during heavy usage.
Mobile photography remains a core focus through a partnership with Leica. The camera array includes a primary 200MP Light Fusion 960 sensor with optical image stabilization, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilization and 3.2x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50MP front-facing sensor housed inside a punch-hole cutout.
Despite its manageable size, the Xiaomi 18 Pro houses a sizable 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Additional features include Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, dual stereo speakers, an IP68 dust-and-water resistance rating, a dedicated AI button, and Android 17 customized with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 out of the box.
Xiaomi has not revealed the official India launch date or pricing yet, but industry expectations suggest the model could breach the Rs 1,00,000 mark when it lands in the country.
