The promotional rollout for director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming two-part epic Ramayana continues with the official release of individual character posters featuring actors Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha. Although both actors were previously confirmed to play Queen Kaikeyi and Manthara respectively, the newly unveiled studio stills provide a detailed look at their on-screen transformations following earlier set leaks and trailer snippets.
In her promotional poster, Lara Dutta appears as Queen Kaikeyi dressed in ornate, bridal-style royal attire, complete with a heavily embellished tiara, a maang tika, layered pearl necklaces, and a traditional nose ring. Her facial expression carries a stern and conflicted glare.
Sheeba Chaddha’s poster introduces her as Manthara, draped in a dark earthy shawl alongside a traditional silver head ornament. Gripping a wooden staff in one hand, Chaddha’s character gazes directly into the camera with an intense and calculating expression.
The studio shared the visual stills on social media accompanied by descriptive captions highlighting their pivotal roles in the narrative. The caption described a queen and a mother whose two wishes would betray a paternal love and alter Rama's destiny forever, alongside a cunning mind whose whispers would transform maternal affection into the kingdom's darkest hour.
These latest poster releases follow the character reveal of veteran actor Arun Govil as King Dashrath. Govil, who famously portrayed Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television series Ramayan, returns to the overarching narrative universe in the role of the Ayodhya patriarch.
Aside from Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starring as Lord Rama and Goddess Sita respectively, the ensemble cast features Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The upcoming cinematic project has been mounted as a massive two-part epic.
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios alongside DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in Diwali 2026, with the sequel following during Diwali 2027.
The film will arrive in IMAX formats across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Sony Pictures is managing global distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions handles distribution within the Hindi-speaking market.
