MUMBAI: Representatives of the Cockroach Janata Party utilized a recent conclave appearance in Mumbai to question the extensive security deployment and logistical restrictions put in place ahead of their scheduled Jantar Mantar 2.0 demonstration in the national capital. The speakers claimed that security personnel were redeployed from Jammu and Kashmir and regions affected by Naxalism, alongside deliberate disruptions across metro and railway networks, specifically to stop protesters from arriving in Delhi.

Highlighting the provisions of Article 19 of the Constitution, the party leaders noted that peaceful protest is a guaranteed democratic right. They pointed out a double standard in how demonstrations are handled, stating that while rallies and protests are permitted in urban centers like Mumbai and Bengaluru, arbitrary limitations are being enforced within Delhi.

The core of their agitation focuses on accusations that the Election Commission is operating in tandem with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to shield Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Furthermore, the organizers criticized the Delhi Police for refusing to engage or communicate with them after formal advance notice was submitted, describing the move as part of a wider effort to suppress democratic dissent nationwide.
