New Delhi: The Delhi administration has implemented sweeping security measures ahead of a planned Aam Aadmi Party protest at Jantar Mantar, despite the Delhi Police withholding formal permission for the gathering. Barricades erected along Janpath Road have halted both pedestrian and vehicular traffic heading toward the demonstration site.

Authorities have installed over 300 new closed-circuit television cameras capable of recording both audio and visuals across the New Delhi district. These devices are directly linked to local police station control rooms to monitor public movement closely.

Shops, offices, and commercial establishments in central Delhi's Connaught Place received advisories to stay shut on Saturday as a precautionary measure to prevent property damage and maintain public safety. The New Delhi Traders Association cooperated with guidance from law enforcement to avert potential incidents, while traffic diversions implemented across the area caused footfall in local markets to drop significantly.

Meanwhile, authorities in neighbouring regions have also elevated their preparedness. Gurgaon Police stepped up their vigil by placing barricades and questioning commuters at the MG Road Metro Station and border entry points such as Sirhol along National Highway 48.
