The Solicitor General told the Supreme Court that the Congress protest led by Rahul Gandhi was unlawful because authorities had not granted permission for the demonstration. During court proceedings, the government official leveled serious allegations, claiming that women police personnel were molested and sustained injuries while managing the crowds.
Drawing attention to video footage from the protest, which took place two days prior at Rajghat in New Delhi, the government representative argued that law enforcement officers were also subjected to verbal abuse. He maintained that despite the challenging circumstances, the police force acted with restraint and responsibility.
The demonstration, held on October 8, involved participation from Rahul Gandhi and various leaders belonging to the INDIA opposition bloc. Legal proceedings and official reviews concerning the events of the protest remain ongoing.
