Hilly areas and plains across the Kashmir Valley witnessed the season's first snowfall during Wednesday night. Fresh snowfall in Gurez Valley and along the Mughal Road led to the temporary closure of the arterial route, with snow clearance operations underway at Pir Ki Gali, where roughly eight inches of snow accumulated.
According to the Meteorological Department, weather conditions are expected to improve across the Kashmir Valley from Thursday late evening, though temperatures are forecast to drop further in the coming days.
