South African champion of international law Navi Pillay, who was awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize, joked that she might share the prize with US President Donald Trump if people kept applauding her.
The lighthearted remark came as the newly announced laureate received warm public praise following the recognition of her significant contributions to global legal standards and human rights.
Pillay has long been recognized for her extensive career in international jurisprudence, including serving as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and as a judge on the International Criminal Court.
