NEW DELHI: A confrontation broke out between a group of lawyers and police personnel outside Delhi’s Mahindra Park Police Station. The legal professionals had gathered at the station to meet with Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksha Yadav concerning individuals who had been detained during protests.
According to the legal representatives, police personnel shoved, physically assaulted, and mistreated them as they attempted to approach the senior official to discuss the detentions. Tensions escalated sharply during the encounter outside the station premises.
Following the incident at the police station, the group of lawyers traveled to Chhatrasal Stadium, which was being utilized as a temporary detention center to hold the detained protesters. However, security personnel stationed at the site blocked their approach and denied them entry at the main gate.
