Actor Yami Gautam Dhar recently opened up about the release timing of her film Nayyi Naveli alongside Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, pointing out that securing a solo release window has become increasingly challenging in the current film industry. Taking to social media, she expressed gratitude to viewers for supporting her project and noted that sharing a release frame with a Rajinikanth-starrer is an honor.
Nayyi Navelli arrived in cinemas on October 16, coming out just a day after Jailer 2 hit the big screen. Yami addressed the schedule overlap while replying to a user on X who praised her movie but questioned the choice of release timing.
Responding to the user, Yami explained that finding a window with only one or two film releases is difficult today. She noted that making a successful movie is a tough feat, appreciating everyone's hard work, and shared her deep gratitude toward the audience for giving her film a chance.
She also expressed her admiration for the veteran actor, stating that she is a massive fan of Rajinikanth just like millions of others. She added that it was a privilege for her smaller film to release alongside his project, which she was also eager to watch.
Jailer 2, which premiered on October 15 under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar, has crossed Rs 475 crore globally in its first five days. The action film follows Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth, as he confronts a major idol-smuggling syndicate connected to the adversaries from the previous movie.
Meanwhile, Nayyi Navelli serves as the Hindi directorial debut for Tamil filmmaker Balaji Mohan. Yami stars as Mohini, a woman who faces suspicion from her new in-laws who believe she is a witch. The cast also features Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, and Prateek Pachori, with the film pulling in nearly Rs 20 crore worldwide.
