Rapper Blueface was arrested in Los Angeles for reportedly delaying a police investigation following a reported firearm incident that authorities ultimately deemed a false swatting call. The artist, whose legal name is Johnathan Porter, was taken into custody on Monday evening in Santa Clarita and booked into the L.A. County jail.

Deputies arrived at approximately 7:43 PM on Monday in response to a report of a man brandishing a firearm at another person at a commercial establishment located in Valencia, a residential area within Santa Clarita. The occurrence reportedly took place during a livestream session conducted by the rapper on the streaming platform Kick.

Upon arrival, deputies detained multiple individuals, including Blueface, who allegedly declined to comply with law enforcement directives. Authorities subsequently concluded that the emergency dispatch was a fraudulent swatting incident, which involves making a fake emergency call to dispatch armed response teams to a specific location.

Blueface has encountered several legal issues over recent years. His most recent detention occurred in August shortly after he completed a prison sentence while serving probation related to allegations from a 2022 shooting incident in Las Vegas. Amidst these ongoing legal challenges, the rapper recently became engaged to his long-term partner, Chrisean Rock.

The 29-year-old Los Angeles artist rose to prominence in 2018 through his distinctive rap style and viral tracks. His breakout single, Thotiana, climbed to the eighth position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2019, leading up to the release of his debut studio album, Find the Beat, in 2020.
