Chesterfield County — Law enforcement agencies have launched a search for 17-year-old Taisha Green, who went missing from Chesterfield County, Virginia, prompting authorities to warn that she could be in danger.

Virginia State Police released a CODI alert for Green shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. Investigators reported that she was last seen departing her residence on South Providence Road in Chesterfield at approximately 7:45 p.m. that same evening.

Officials stated that Green's sudden disappearance represents a credible threat to her health and safety because she lives with a medical condition that necessitates ongoing care.

Green is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing roughly 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a white T-shirt, a black jacket, blue jeans, and sneakers.

Investigators are asking anyone with relevant details concerning Green's location to reach out directly to the Chesterfield Police Department.

The Virginia Critical Operation for a Disappeared Child Initiative, known as the CODI Alert Program, functions as an emergency notification system intended to rapidly inform the public regarding missing juveniles when investigations indicate a credible threat. Authorized by the 2024 General Assembly and named in honor of Codi Bigsby—a young boy who vanished in Hampton in 2022—the alert requires specific criteria to be met, including that the individual be 17 or younger, that their whereabouts remain unknown under concerning circumstances, and that sufficient descriptive data exists to share with the public.
