Members of the Dhanush Welfare Movement in Madurai have announced free auto-rickshaw rides for the public during the Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadashami festivals. The initiative coincides with growing speculation regarding the Tamil actor's reported visit to Delhi, although the fan club members did not draw any direct connection between the two events.
The auto drivers explained that the community service is a way to express gratitude toward Dhanush, who reportedly presented them with free vehicles on his 43rd birthday to assist individuals struggling to secure a livelihood.
Marimuthu, the district secretary of the Dhanush Welfare Movement, stated that the drivers will utilize the gifted vehicles to offer complimentary transportation to the poor, the elderly, and children attending their first day of school, as well as passengers facing financial hardships.
Addressing potential political aspirations, Marimuthu noted that any decision regarding entering politics rests entirely with the actor. He emphasized that the welfare organization will remain loyal to Dhanush regardless of his career direction, pledging unwavering backing whether he pursues a political path or not.
Speculation about a political entry has intensified following remarks from AIADMK leader and former minister Rajendra Balaji, who praised the actor's films and mass appeal while stating that the party would welcome him under the leadership of Edappadi K Palaniswami. Additional attention has focused on the actor's political prospects following the transition of his fan network into a formal welfare organization.
