New Delhi — A delivery worker who arrived at a woman's home to drop off a parcel ended up preventing a major household disaster when a kitchen fire broke out. CCTV footage shared by Dr. Shivangi Joshi captured the dramatic moment the delivery agent stepped in to contain the flames after the resident froze in panic.
The incident began when Joshi walked to her door to collect a delivery. Unbeknownst to her at that moment, a pan left on the kitchen stove started smoking before abruptly catching fire. When Joshi returned and noticed the escalating danger, she appeared stunned and struggled to comprehend how to handle the situation.
Rather than leaving, the delivery worker immediately rushed toward the kitchen. He attempted to manage the flames and successfully shut off the gas supply, neutralizing a hazard that could have resulted in a severe accident.
Joshi later posted the surveillance footage online, describing the event as one of the most emotional moments of her life. She recounted how the worker arrived the previous night for a routine delivery, completely unaware that his visit would take such a critical turn.
Expressing her gratitude on social media, Joshi noted that the man helped her without a second thought and proved that humanity is still alive. She reflected on how individuals are often judged by their profession or appearance, which bears no relation to their underlying courage and compassion.
The doctor added that she might never find adequate words to thank him, concluding that while some people only deliver parcels, others bring hope when it is needed most. The shared video quickly went viral, accumulating millions of views and widespread praise from social media users who commended the gig worker's selflessness during a crisis.
