Singer Sonu Nigam has apologised to the people of Karnataka for his controversial remark comparing the demand for Kannada songs to the Pahalgam terror attack, a year after the comment sparked widespread outrage. The apology comes amid renewed protests by the pro-Kannada group Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV), whose state president, TA Narayana Gowda, had urged Bengaluru police to deny permission for the singer’s scheduled concert in the city.

Following a conversation with Gowda, Sonu issued an apology stating that he did not mind saying sorry one thousand times. This gesture prompted the organisation to announce that it would call off its planned protest against the artist.
