Ranchi: Jharkhand Police have successfully rescued four missing girls from New Delhi and Jaipur, including an individual who had been missing for a decade, according to a senior law enforcement official. A specialized team from the Khunti Police department recovered the victims and brought them back to the state on Monday. Authorities stated that three of the victims were lured away by human traffickers offering promises of domestic employment.
The fourth victim was transported to Delhi approximately ten years ago. Following a brief six-month stint as a domestic worker, she was sold to buyers in Jaipur by the traffickers, police reported.
The operation gained momentum when law enforcement traveled to New Delhi to look for two missing teenagers aged 13 and 14. These two girls had disappeared in November 2025, prompting their families to file missing-person reports at the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit police station in Khunti.
Khunti Superintendent of Police Rishabha Garg detailed that the team rescued four individuals in total. Three girls were located across different sites in New Delhi on October 15, while the fourth, missing for ten years, was tracked down and rescued in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Two of the victims reside within the Khunti police station jurisdiction, while the remaining two originate from the Karra police station area.
Garg explained that the crucial lead regarding the girl missing for a decade emerged when a new Aadhaar card was being processed for her. During the verification checks conducted by the Unique Identification Authority of India, her information matched her ancestral village and a previous mobile number.
Authorities subsequently tracked her current whereabouts using electronic surveillance. The same police team deployed to New Delhi then traveled onward to Rajasthan to complete the rescue operation.
Investigators noted that the victims were caught in trafficking networks promising household jobs, with involvement from certain placement agencies. Police are actively examining these agencies and intend to pursue strict legal measures against those responsible.
