A man broke down in tears while publicly appealing to the Bharatiya Janata Party to reverse its decision denying his mother a ticket for the upcoming Rajasthan panchayat elections. A video featuring Vijay Meena, the son of former village head Manju Meena, circulated widely on social media amid mounting tensions over candidate selection in Jaipur. The ruling party declined to award Manju Meena a ticket from Ward Number 47 of the Jaipur Zilla Parishad.

Vijay Meena, a former Zilla Parishad chairman, alleged that his mother's nomination was blocked because he had previously spoken out on public issues and protested against local authorities. The statewide panchayat polls are scheduled to take place across four phases between October 23 and November 16.

In the widely shared footage, a weeping Vijay Meena stated that he had consulted a local legislator and completed all formal application procedures after receiving assurances that his mother would secure the nomination. He claimed, however, that the party later penalized him for participating in public demonstrations. Describing his appeal as a desperate plea, he stated that he was begging the party leadership for fairness.

Vijay Meena defended his community activism, pointing to local infrastructure needs such as a trauma center and proper highway lighting. He emphasized the hardships endured by impoverished families who must travel long distances to access emergency medical services, asking whether advocating for the public interest constituted a wrongdoing. Swearing on his mother, he reiterated his plea for justice while continuing to cry.

Asserting that his political advocacy directly caused his mother's exclusion, Vijay Meena vowed to maintain his stance on behalf of local residents. He remarked that leadership could expel him from the party or organization, but questioned whether they could stop him from championing public causes. He contrasted his own potential resources with the plight of ordinary villagers who struggle to reach major medical facilities during emergencies like snakebites or complicated deliveries.

The emotional video emerged as the BJP's candidate finalization for the Rajasthan local elections generated widespread frustration among hopefuls and their supporters. The upcoming elections will encompass Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis across multiple phases, alongside separate polling schedules for Panch and Sarpanch positions spanning thousands of gram panchayats throughout the state.
