Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the deployment of artificial intelligence tools during protests in the national capital, specifically targeting portals and websites using AI-generated reporters presented as ground journalists. According to the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit of the Delhi Police, multiple websites and social media accounts are circulating provocative content and fake videos originating from outside India, with several IP addresses traced to Pakistan.

In response to the digital campaign, authorities have registered a First Information Report, requested relevant platforms and authorities to take down the malicious accounts, and are coordinating with fact-checking organizations to counter the spread of misleading narratives.

Meanwhile, the broader demonstrations in central Delhi over the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner continue to generate political controversy following heavy police actions and thousands of detentions since mid-October. Detainees and opposition figures have raised allegations of police brutality, arbitrary detention, and mistreatment during custody, claims that law enforcement officials have denied as political tensions persist across multiple fronts.
