Opposition leaders and Members of Parliament from the India bloc staged a sit-in demonstration at Vijay Chowk, continuing four days of sustained protests across the national capital. Key figures, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, participated directly in the agitation.
Simultaneously, a high-level opposition delegation comprising Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, and Omar Abdullah visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet the President. The political push escalated after Rahul Gandhi addressed the Central Hall, openly calling for the dismissal of the central government alongside demands for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
Demonstrators gathered at Vijay Chowk vowed that their collective protests, spanning from Parliament grounds to the streets, will persist until all of their core demands are fully addressed. Political analysts have noted that the ongoing confrontation reflects a broader strategy by the opposition alliance against the administration, particularly as political parties gear up for upcoming assembly elections.
