New Delhi: High political drama unfolded in the national capital as opposition INDIA bloc leaders gathered at the Constitution Club to march toward the Supreme Court of India. Opposition representatives stated that their demonstration aimed to secure an audience with the Chief Justice of India and file a petition after previous approaches to other institutions and protest requests were turned down.

In response to the planned movement, heavy deployments of Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel, including the Central Reserve Police Force and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, were positioned across key routes such as Rafi Marg and Barakhamba Road to prevent the parliamentarians from advancing. Simultaneously, Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha workers held a demonstration outside the Congress headquarters, breaching police barricades during the unfolding events.

Addressing a press conference amid the tensions, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned the central government regarding the extensive security measures and heavy barricading across the city, asking why Delhi had effectively been placed under lockdown. Referring to the March for Democracy movement concerning the Election Commission, Gyanesh Kumar, and allegations of vote theft, he stated that organized resistance had solidified over recent days.

Gandhi alleged that transport services including trains and buses were being intercepted to prevent citizens from arriving in Delhi, transforming the capital into a fortified zone with tens of thousands of police personnel deployed on the streets. He claimed this heavy presence demonstrated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration was shielding Gyanesh Kumar.

He further remarked that members of the Delhi Police, CRPF, and ITBP were questioning why they were being instructed to halt patriotic Indian youths, alleging that while young citizens faced severe crackdowns, affiliates of the RSS and BJP moved about without restriction. Gandhi concluded by asserting that the opposition, the general public, and security personnel ultimately stood together on one side against a very small group of individuals.
