Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release ₹5,110 crore in pending central funds under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan without conditions.
The central scheme provides vital support for school education spanning from pre-school through Class 12. This funding encompasses teacher training programs, the enhancement of school infrastructure, digital learning initiatives, textbooks, student uniforms, and special education provisions.
According to state authorities, the central government's mandated 60 percent financial share has remained stalled and unpaid since 2024, prompting the urgent appeal for the funds to be disbursed immediately.
