New Delhi: For many mothers, navigating postpartum recovery after a C-section while trying to manage weight can feel overwhelming with competing time demands. However, social media content creator Punam Subba managed to shed approximately 30 kilograms over an eight-month period by keeping her approach remarkably close to home.

Subba achieved her transformation without ever stepping foot inside a commercial gym or following an elaborate, restrictive diet. Instead, she credits her success entirely to home-based exercise routines and simple, traditional meals prepared in her own kitchen.

Her daily routine begins first thing in the morning with a glass of hot water, which is immediately followed by an hour of exercise at home. For breakfast, she enjoys poha enhanced with a protein boost of soybeans and whole gram, paired with a soothing cup of unsweetened green tea.

As the morning progresses into afternoon, she incorporates a fresh serving of fruit before sitting down for lunch. Her midday meal typically features rice accompanied by ladyfinger and fish, though she suggests paneer as a suitable alternative for vegetarians. Rather than eliminating carbohydrates entirely, she maintains a balanced plate by keeping her rice portion modest while increasing the amount of vegetables.

Later in the day, she enjoys a traditional cup of tea sweetened with jaggery. For her final meal of the day, she opts for a high-protein combination consisting of soya chunks, gram, and oats.

Alongside her meal and exercise plan, Subba incorporates several other everyday habits to support her health. She consistently drinks around three liters of water throughout the day and consumes a glass of warm water mixed with ghee prior to dinner, a practice she believes helps ward off bloating and gas. Additionally, she turns to green tea or coffee to manage unexpected food cravings.

Health experts note that individual nutritional requirements and postpartum recovery timelines vary greatly from person to person. Anyone considering a new fitness regimen or dietary shift after childbirth should consult a healthcare professional to ensure safe recovery and personalized guidance before beginning.
