Delhi Police officially confirmed that permission for a proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar was denied to the Cockroach Janata Party following past violations of lawful directions, stone-pelting incidents, and property damage during previous gatherings. To maintain public order and safeguard citizens, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita was enforced across multiple parts of Delhi to prohibit unauthorized assemblies. Consequently, Abhijeet Dipke and two associates were detained on October 10 over calls for the banned protest.

In a separate development addressed at the India Today Mumbai Conclave, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde discussed the agrarian crisis and severe drought affecting large parts of the state. Shinde stated that 75 to 80 percent of Maharashtra is grappling with drought and confirmed that the administration has raised the requirement for major financial assistance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

Emphasising the state government's support for the farming community, Shinde noted that even a single farmer suicide is extremely unfortunate. He highlighted that the administration expanded disaster relief criteria under the NDMF from two hectares to three hectares and added supplementary financial assistance of 6,000 rupees to the PM-Kisan scheme during his tenure.

Responding to opposition criticism and allegations regarding financial constraints, Shinde urged against politicising the hardships of farmers facing natural calamities. He affirmed that the ruling alliance remains fully committed to supporting all sectors, including farmers, youth, women, and entrepreneurs across Maharashtra.
