NEW DELHI: An IndiGo flight operating from Delhi to Chennai on October 11 had to be diverted to Hyderabad after smoke was spotted coming from a passenger's personal electronic device, which was reportedly a power bank.

The alert cabin crew managed to bring the situation under control quickly, allowing the aircraft to land safely at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

Following the incident, IndiGo arranged an alternate aircraft to transport the passengers onward to Chennai.

The airline issued an apology for the resulting inconvenience and emphasized that the safety and security of its passengers and crew members remain its absolute top priority.
