Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Deepke and several party members were released following more than 20 hours of detention after being produced before a local magistrate. Authorities secured a 50,000 rupee surety bond that requires the released individuals to maintain peace and public order throughout Delhi for a duration of one year.
Following his release, Deepke asserted that no document restricting the constitutional right to protest was signed and publicly vowed to resume street demonstrations. Legal observers note that while fundamental rights allow for peaceful protests that comply with established Supreme Court guidelines, any random disruptions or violations of the bond conditions could expose the individuals to potential re-arrest and judicial custody by the Delhi Police.
