New Delhi: Protesters belonging to left-wing student organisations were detained by security personnel while attempting to carry out a surprise demonstration in the national capital. The participants sought to march from Connaught Place toward Jantar Mantar to voice their demands.
Shortly after the demonstration began, a heavy deployment of paramilitary forces arrived at N Block, located near the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. Authorities intervened quickly to block the procession and subsequently detained the marching students to maintain public order.
