Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi told opposition lawmakers that the government will fall if they maintain their current level of protest pressure against the chief election commissioner the way they have for the past several days. Speaking in the Parliament central hall ahead of a scheduled meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, Gandhi asserted that sustained pressure over the recent days has shaken the foundations of the administration and left the ruling authorities frightened. He added that the issue extends beyond the election commissioner himself and warrants the termination of the current government, describing the struggle as a cause worth fighting for.

Gandhi and other opposition leaders have been leading demonstrations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged discrepancies in special intensive revision processes, with the bloc demanding his resignation. Earlier in the week, opposition parliamentarians attempted to stage a major demonstration at Jantar Mantar, but law enforcement authorities intercepted their buses along Janpath. Gandhi criticized the election chief, describing him as a service provider who refused to meet elected representatives of the people.

Following these discussions, INDIA bloc parliamentarians began a march from Parliament House toward Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu regarding concerns over electoral integrity and the conduct of the election commission. Carrying placards and shouting slogans, the opposition leaders sought presidential intervention. Rashtriya Janata Dal lawmaker Manoj Kumar Jha strongly criticized the poll watchdog, accusing it of institutional bias and claiming that the election chief was acting as a shield for a structure of dishonesty. Congress parliamentarian Gaurav Gogoi also praised citizens taking to the streets to support democracy. Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the government of acting out of fear, pointing to the closure of metro stations and cancellation of train services surrounding the demonstration period.
