Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged school students in Chennai to seize the opportunities available to them, declaring that the world is looking for solutions and that they possess the potential to provide them. Addressing students at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Modi stated that this is their time and opportunity, adding that he sees the future in them. He noted that today's youth want to become the driving force behind the vision of a developed India, and that the new ideas and solutions needed to achieve this goal will shape the future of both the country and the world. During his address, the prime minister highlighted the importance of Tamil language and culture, praising the classical text Thirukkural and recalling an occasion when he gifted the work to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also referred to a poem by Mahakavi Subramania Bharati, noting that people in Varanasi continue to remember its verses, which inspire individuals to live fearlessly. Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated, laid foundation stones for, and dedicated multiple development projects worth more than 13,000 crore rupees in Chennai. These initiatives are designed to improve connectivity, strengthen industrial growth, and create employment opportunities across Tamil Nadu. Emphasizing the impact of the undertakings, the prime minister remarked that some projects will ease daily travel while others will bolster industry and trade, collectively generating jobs for young people in the region. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay was present on the dais alongside other senior state and central leaders, and the prime minister and chief minister later shared a metro ride after flagging off a new stretch of the Chennai Metro.
