Politician Tej Pratap Yadav turned emotional on Rise & Fall Season 2 after host Virender Sehwag surprised him with a video call from his parents, former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Their appearance became one of the most emotional moments of the latest episode, which otherwise moved between playful tasks and renewed tension inside the Tower.

The episode saw light-hearted Bollywood-themed challenges alongside fresh friction between the Rulers and the Workers, as old grievances over decisions taken the previous week resurfaced. In the middle of that, Tej’s conversation with his parents briefly changed the mood before the arguments resumed.

Sehwag introduced the special video call as Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi appeared on screen to greet their son and speak about his journey in the game. When Sehwag asked Lalu Prasad Yadav how Tej was playing, he praised his efforts and offered his best wishes.

The conversation then turned playful. When Sehwag asked Rabri Devi whether Tej also played the flute at home, she replied that he makes them hear it often. When Sehwag joked that Tej seemed to be having a lot of fun inside the Tower, Rabri Devi responded that they should keep him there. The tone shifted when Sehwag mentioned that Tej had been missing his mother and asked whether his parents missed him too. Rabri Devi acknowledged that they missed him as well, adding that he was performing well and that the world was watching and praising him.

In another lighter exchange, Sehwag asked Tej whether he took after his mother or his father, and the contestant replied that he took after his mother. When asked if he was afraid of his father, Tej admitted that he was. The mood turned serious again when Tej asked his father about his health, remarking that he felt his father was not doing well, before Lalu Prasad Yadav reassured him that he was fine. Tej was visibly emotional after that. Contestant Priyanka Chahar Choudhary also spoke about her admiration for Lalu Prasad Yadav, sharing that she watches his videos and enjoys his wit. When Sehwag later asked Tej how he felt about the video call, he described it as a wonderful surprise.
