New Delhi: At least two people lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries across two separate road accidents that took place in Delhi on Saturday. In the Anand Parbat area of Central Delhi, a Delhi Transport Corporation bus collided with a scooter, leaving one person dead and five others injured, according to local law enforcement authorities.

The crash occurred along DB Gupta Road. Initial findings indicate that both individuals traveling on the scooter suffered severe injuries and were promptly transported to a medical facility, where one of them succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. After striking the scooter, the bus reportedly spiraled out of control and plowed into several additional vehicles, injuring at least four more people.

Authorities are actively examining the circumstances that led to the multiple-vehicle collision. A senior transport department official confirmed that the transport corporation has launched an internal inquiry into the crash and is gathering comprehensive information regarding the event.

In an unrelated incident in southwest Delhi, a separate fatal collision occurred when a truck struck two motorcycles carrying a total of four people near the Crescent Apartment traffic signal in Sector 18, Dwarka, around 12:45 am on Saturday. One of the victims, identified as Gaurav, suffered critical head trauma and died at the scene before being taken to Indira Gandhi Hospital, where medical staff declared him dead upon arrival. His remains were subsequently transferred to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital mortuary.

Three other individuals were hurt in the Dwarka collision and identified as Hitesh, Harshit, and Dhruv. While Hitesh and Harshit received initial care at Indira Gandhi Hospital prior to transfer for advanced treatment, Dhruv was admitted to Max Hospital and was deemed unfit by medical personnel to provide an official statement.

Police subsequently apprehended the driver of the truck, a 41-year-old resident of Agra named Hotam Singh, in connection with the Dwarka crash. Law enforcement officers seized the truck and both motorcycles as evidence, while a forensic crime team processed and photographed the accident location.

A formal case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and investigations continue to determine the exact sequence of events that triggered the collision. Meanwhile, authorities are awaiting further findings from the transport corporation's ongoing probe into the Anand Parbat incident.
