New Delhi: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained for the second time in a week and produced before a magistrate court, with proceedings conducted under heavy security outside the Mandir Marg police station in New Delhi. Dipke was apprehended ahead of a planned Tiranga rally at Connaught Place after police cited concerns over potential disruption of law and order.

Delhi Police are seeking judicial custody from the special executive magistrate to prevent further breach of peace in the national capital. Amid the detention of key leadership, CJP named Ajinkya as second-in-command to coordinate ongoing activities. Meanwhile, demonstrations by left-leaning student groups continued near Jantar Mantar and Delhi Police headquarters, though law enforcement reported substantially fewer participants on the ground.

Authorities maintained that while the right to protest is acknowledged, preventive measures and detentions remain necessary to ensure public safety and prevent incidents of unrest. Dipke was produced before an Executive Magistrate following his preventive detention by the Delhi Police.

Outside the premises, a confrontation erupted between a team of lawyers seeking entry to represent him and security personnel, including the Rapid Action Force and Central Reserve Police Force, who barricaded the main gate. The Delhi Police maintained that required legal representatives, including the legal head of the party, were already inside for the hearing.

Authorities justified the action under the Delhi Police Act and Section 163, citing calls for an unauthorised protest at Central Park, which had been closed by the New Delhi Municipal Council. Police submitted viral videos alongside notices signed by Dipke, arguing that he breached terms to maintain peace and should be remanded to judicial custody.

Left-wing organisations also staged demonstrations along Raisina Road in Delhi demanding the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner over the Special Intensive Revision process. Security arrangements were tightened across central Delhi, with police and paramilitary forces setting up heavy barricades and anti-riot deployments to stop demonstrators from advancing, leading to several detentions.

Despite facing charges where bail can legally be secured with ease, the party has opted not to move bail applications immediately, a move analysts suggest is part of a larger political strategy focused on optics and messaging. Judicial custody can be sought for up to 14 days by Delhi Police depending on the law and order assessment, and jail intake logistics indicate Dipke could potentially be assigned to Mandoli Jail under Tihar's administrative jurisdiction.
