A special crime investigation review highlights the legal outcome of the infamous Meerut blue drum murder case, in which a merchant navy professional named Saurabh Rajput was murdered and his remains concealed inside a cement-filled drum. The heinous crime was orchestrated by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, along with her lover, Sahil Shukla, after they drugged and stabbed the victim before dismembering his body.
Following a comprehensive judicial process that spanned 126 hearings and included testimony from 22 prosecution witnesses, the Meerut District Court delivered its verdict. The court handed down the death penalty to both convicts for the brutal killing, though the sentence remains subject to formal confirmation by the Allahabad High Court.
The same investigative review also shed light on another high-profile criminal probe in Uttar Pradesh involving the mysterious death of 28-year-old businessman Shiva Sharma in Lucknow. Sharma fell to his death from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Hazratganj, prompting allegations from his mother that he was tortured, blackmailed, and driven to his death by his live-in partner and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey alongside associates, with police currently pursuing leads toward the Nepal border.
