A charitable organization has introduced a new funding initiative designed to enhance health and wellbeing standards across Jersey. Known as the Island Health Fund, the program establishes a dedicated channel for residents, family offices, corporate entities, and charitable trusts to back various health-related efforts.

According to the Jersey Community Foundation, the capital raised will support initiatives such as purchasing medical equipment, funding clinical research, driving medical innovation, launching community health programs, and providing specialist training.

Anna Terry, the chief executive of the foundation, clarified that the initiative is not intended to substitute for government spending. Instead, she emphasized that the goal is to see what supplemental philanthropic backing can achieve for the island's health sector.

The foundation announced that an independent panel will be established to govern financial decisions and help guide the strategic priorities of the fund.
