Addressing a press conference, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi directed sharp criticism at the central administration regarding extensive security arrangements and barricades across the national capital, pointedly asking why Delhi has been placed under lockdown-like conditions.

The remarks came in the context of the planned March for Democracy movement, which centers on concerns surrounding the Election Commission, Gyanesh Kumar, and allegations of vote theft. Gandhi noted that public resistance has steadily gained momentum over recent days.

He claimed that transportation services including trains and buses are being deliberately intercepted to hinder citizens from arriving in Delhi, effectively transforming the capital into a fortified zone with an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 security personnel deployed across public streets.

According to Gandhi, this massive security mobilization demonstrates that the administration headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is shielding Gyanesh Kumar. He further asserted that members of the Delhi Police, CRPF, and ITBP are privately questioning orders to block patriotic citizens, contrasting the restrictions on youth with the freedom enjoyed by affiliates of the RSS and BJP.

Concluding his remarks, the opposition leader maintained that the general public, political opposition, and security personnel are united on one side against a small group of individuals.
