New Delhi: US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor recently traveled to Kolkata to take part in the vibrant celebrations of Durga Puja, where he toured several local pandals and admired the detailed artwork.
Following his visit, Gor shared photographs on social media capturing his time at the celebrations, including a snapshot where he posed before an idol of Goddess Durga. Other images highlighted his tours of the elaborate decorations set up across the city.
Expressing his appreciation for the cultural event online, the ambassador noted his happiness at returning to Kolkata and commended the remarkable craftsmanship, communal harmony, and hospitality he witnessed during the tour.
Durga Puja remains a major annual celebration throughout West Bengal, turning Kolkata into a lively cultural center filled with artistic displays, ornate community pandals, and large gatherings of visitors and devotees from all over the country.
