Opposition leaders and Members of Parliament belonging to the INDIA bloc organized a sit-in demonstration at Vijay Chowk, marking the continuation of four days of sustained protests against the administration. Several prominent figures took part in the agitation, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
While the demonstration took place at Vijay Chowk, a high-level opposition delegation consisting of Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, and Omar Abdullah traveled to Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet with the President.
During his address at the Central Hall, Rahul Gandhi significantly escalated the political rhetoric by calling for the termination of the central government. In addition to demanding a change in administration, he pressed for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
Demonstrators gathered at Vijay Chowk declared that their protest movement, which spans from Parliament to the streets, will continue unabated until all of their demands are fulfilled.
The ongoing agitations highlight the opposition's broader, long-term political strategy aimed at intensifying the confrontation with the Narendra Modi administration as upcoming assembly elections approach.
