A 37-year-old woman was rescued by police after she allegedly jumped into the Hindon canal near Kanawani in Indirapuram following a domestic dispute with her husband. Authorities confirmed that the woman was subsequently transported to a super-specialty hospital located in Indirapuram for medical attention.

According to law enforcement, the Vijay Nagar resident fled toward the canal—which lies roughly two to three kilometers from her residence—following an altercation with her spouse. Investigators reported that she entered the water at approximately 1:30 am on Wednesday.

Her husband and other relatives pursued her as she ran toward the waterway and immediately alerted authorities upon witnessing her jump. A team from the Indirapuram police station arrived swiftly, deploying divers to execute a rescue operation that lasted roughly thirty minutes.

Suryabali Maurya, assistant commissioner of police for Indirapuram, noted that despite the darkness, the woman jumped into relatively shallow water and was saved in time, preventing a potentially fatal outcome.

Officers confirmed that the woman is currently receiving medical care and her condition has stabilized. Police noted that the altercation stemmed from a domestic disagreement, prompting her to head toward the waterway before the timely emergency call and quick response saved her.

Dharam Pal, station house officer of the Vijay Nagar police station, stated that authorities have not received any formal complaints regarding the incident thus far. Rijul, deputy commissioner of police for the trans-Hindon zone, added that the woman's husband serves as an inspector with the Uttar Pradesh police and is currently posted in Hathras.

The deputy commissioner explained that a marital dispute triggered the sequence of events, and police will proceed with appropriate action should the woman choose to file a formal complaint.
