Kochi: Nooha, the mother of Suhail, the primary accused in a high-speed Mini Cooper crash that claimed three lives in Kerala, has expressed solidarity with the victims' families and pledged her family's support. Her remarks follow ongoing police investigations and impending administrative actions regarding the driver's license.

In a video statement shared on social media, Nooha offered her condolences to the bereaved families, acknowledging the profound grief of losing a child. She stated that she and her family would stand by the affected relatives for as long as possible, emphasizing that her comments were an expression of empathy rather than an attempt to equate sufferings. She also called for a transparent inquiry, urging that the investigation and legal proceedings be conducted fairly to uncover the truth.

Addressing the public discourse surrounding the incident, Nooha requested privacy and compassion for her own family, while noting the complex emotional toll of worrying about her son's future alongside the tragic loss of the three young victims. Officials from the Motor Vehicles Department have issued a show-cause notice to Suhail, giving him 14 days to respond regarding the potential suspension or cancellation of his driving licence, following a formal recommendation from the police.

The fatal collision occurred in the early hours of October 11 on the airport road at Nedumbassery, when a speeding Mini Cooper struck a scooter carrying three individuals, all around 21 years of age. Police investigators allege that Suhail was driving under the influence of alcohol at speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour in a 60 or 70 kmph zone, and that the vehicle was fitted with a modified, noise-amplifying exhaust system.

In addition to Suhail, authorities have arrested three other individuals—Ninav, Ameer, and Joel—who were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Court filings opposing the suspects' bail revealed that blood and urine tests indicated alcohol concentrations significantly above the legal limit permitted under the Motor Vehicles Act. A local court subsequently dismissed the bail petitions for all four accused, and the police investigation remains ongoing.
