Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Saturday launched a direct attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the opposition party would fail to return to power in both the 2029 and 2034 general elections. He accused the primary opposition party of attempting to instigate unrest across the nation and questioned its fundamental commitment to democratic norms.
Speaking in Patna prior to his departure for Delhi, Paswan alleged that the Congress was leveraging democracy for narrow political gains while actively working to foster national instability rather than focusing on electoral victories.
Targeting the opposition, Paswan remarked that such thinking from the country's main opposition party was an intentional effort to cultivate a volatile atmosphere. He accused the organization of trying to spread anarchy and questioned whether it intended to mimic turmoil seen in other nations.
Asking if the Congress aimed to ignite the country by replicating situations similar to those in Bangladesh, Nepal, and France, Paswan claimed that the general public withheld its support because the party preferred chaos over legitimate political competition.
Shifting focus to regional politics, Paswan confirmed that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) would field candidates in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, maintaining that his party's participation was certain regardless of any coalition arrangements.
He outlined plans to host a Nav Sankalp Sabha in Uttar Pradesh during the first week of November, mirroring the Nav Sankalp Yatra previously conducted in Bihar. Additionally, the party intends to mark its foundation day with a large-scale celebration in Lucknow.
Regarding potential electoral partnerships in Uttar Pradesh, Paswan noted that time would tell whether they would contest within an alliance, though he firmly reiterated that the party would definitely participate in the polls.
Concluding his remarks, Paswan voiced appreciation for the governments of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for honoring his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan. He thanked the Bihar administration, Prime Minister, and Union Home Minister for designating his father's birth anniversary as an official state function, while also expressing gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for observing his death anniversary with a state event.
