Kerala Police have invoked the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, commonly known as UAPA, against the suspect identified as Eben Paul following an arson attack outside a synagogue in the state. Authorities have also linked the accused to two prior fire incidents after uncovering a matching modus operandi and securing his admission regarding those offenses.
During the ongoing investigation, law enforcement discovered suspicious Telegram chats between the accused and an unknown handler designated as 'Boss'. Investigators also recovered financial transaction records and seized synthetic drugs during a search of the suspect's residence.
Following these developments, central intelligence officials and the National Investigation Agency have stepped in to examine whether a broader terror conspiracy is involved. The scope of the inquiry has since expanded to include Pune as authorities work to uncover all aspects of the network and potential accomplices.
