New Delhi: Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory restricting vehicular movement around Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and parts of Connaught Place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm due to protests organized by left-wing groups. Traffic closures were implemented on the stretch between Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and the Election Commission office as demonstrators planned a march toward the Election Commission and Jantar Mantar.

The demonstration was organized to protest the de-notification of Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site and to demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. In response to the planned march, Delhi Police deployed a heavy security apparatus, including detention buses, stationed outside the police headquarters and along adjoining routes.

Authorities also noted that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita had been imposed across the area to prevent unlawful assemblies and maintain public order. Commuters were advised to avoid the affected corridors and plan alternative routes during the restricted hours.
