A speeding Mahindra Scorpio collided head-on with a motorcycle in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Thursday night, leaving two students injured before the driver fled from the location. The crash occurred near the city's Fifth Road area at approximately 9:48 pm when the out-of-control vehicle struck the oncoming motorcycle.
CCTV footage of the incident recorded the vehicle crashing into the bike approaching from the opposite direction on F Road and subsequently striking a parked vehicle from behind. The force of the impact propelled both students into the air before they crashed onto the pavement.
Following the collision, the driver reversed the Scorpio a short distance and then sped away without stopping to assist the injured individuals. Passersby quickly gathered at the scene to help the two students, who had become trapped between the vehicles during the accident.
The victims were identified as Rakshit Agrawal and his classmate Nishtha Agrawal. Both were transported to MDM Hospital to receive medical care, though updates on their precise conditions were not immediately available.
In response to the crash, law enforcement broadcast wireless alerts across Jodhpur and established barricades to intercept the vehicle and driver. Police squads were deployed throughout the city to track down the Scorpio, while the search for the driver remained ongoing.
