New Delhi: Opposition leaders from the INDIA bloc, alongside Congress and NSUI workers and a large group of lawyers carrying copies of the Constitution, launched a significant protest march toward the Supreme Court. Heavy security deployments, including personnel from the Delhi Police, Rapid Action Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and Uttar Pradesh Police, were established along Bhagwan Das Road, the Bengali Market roundabout, and Barakhamba Road to maintain order. Authorities positioned multi-layered barricades and detention vehicles near the Mandi House roundabout to halt the procession. Although the office of the Chief Justice of India noted that related petitions were already under review, a designated delegation of ten leaders intended to submit a formal petition in person amid strict administrative restrictions on movement.

Simultaneously, a political briefing addressed reporters to level sharp criticism against the Congress party regarding its recent electoral losses and internal operational methods. The speaker asserted that electoral defeats stemmed from an uninspired leadership lacking connection to the nation, its values, and its citizens, rather than issues with the Election Commission. The briefing pointed out persistent leadership conflicts in states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka, and Telangana, while highlighting that prolonged exclusion from power in major regions such as Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh has diminished Congress to a junior partner dependent on regional allies including the DMK, RJD, SP, JMM, and National Conference. The remarks also touched upon ongoing demonstrations in Delhi and communications with judicial bodies, emphasizing that constitutional frameworks and established rules should be upheld instead of inciting public unrest.
