Newdelhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Monday accused Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of trying to create instability and chaos in the country, alleging that his actions were aimed at weakening constitutional institutions and damaging India’s image globally.

At a press conference, Thakur stated that the country had never witnessed such theatrics and tantrums from a leader of the opposition. He characterized Gandhi as destabilizing, chaotic, and unserious, specifically targeting his repeated assertions of vote chori while claiming that these statements challenge the mandate of the public.

Thakur criticized Gandhi's political style as lacking substance, describing his approach as relying on hollow statements, baseless allegations, and hollow protests. He further argued that Gandhi consistently shifts blame onto foundational institutions, including the Election Commission, electronic voting machines, and the chief election commissioner.

The situation has deteriorated to the point where Gandhi is utilizing street-level language and leveling unfounded accusations, according to the former Union minister. Thakur emphasized that the nation requires truth, evidence, and clear answers rather than political noise and unverified claims.

Thakur also claimed that when Gandhi approached the President, he was asked to supply supporting evidence for his complaints but remained silent. Additionally, he asserted that the Supreme Court had previously indicated to Gandhi that the judiciary should not be turned into a battleground for partisan politics.

By repeatedly targeting institutions and raising unproven issues concerning the electoral process, Thakur concluded that Gandhi is actively fostering confusion and undermining constitutional processes in the country.
