New Delhi: Singer Rahul Vaidya has landed in controversy following a broadcast appearance on the reality program Dhamaal With Pati Patni Aur Panga, where a censored remark regarding intimacy visibly shocked his wife, actor Disha Parmar, and other participants. A video excerpt from the show has circulated widely online, drawing negative reactions from viewers who accused the singer of showing disrespect to his spouse while also questioning the producers' decision to air the awkward exchange.
The controversy began when host Munawar Faruqui challenged the male participants to list five behaviors their wives engaged in prior to marriage that have since stopped. When Rahul provided his initial response, the audio feed was bleeped out, instantly prompting surprised reactions from those on stage. Disha immediately responded by asking if he had lost his mind, while actor Archana Puran Singh voiced her shock aloud. Another participant, Deepika Singh, remarked that such statements were not permitted on television broadcasts, causing Disha to lower her head in embarrassment.
Following the censored remark, Rahul continued listing other habits he claimed Disha had abandoned, such as cooking, inquiring about his mother's health, photographing him properly, and selecting his wardrobe. Actor Arjun Bijlani then interjected to ask about their child, prompting a sharp retort from Rahul regarding the birth of their baby. This back-and-forth caused noticeable discomfort for Munawar and fellow guest Sonali Bendre. As the discussion grew tenser, Archana attempted to clarify the game's prompt, while Rahul urged the room to remain silent, claiming any further commentary would be misinterpreted.
The viral segment quickly gained traction on Reddit and other platforms, where commentators accused Rahul of publicly undermining his wife. Several internet users expressed frustration over the sharing of private matters on a national platform, with many criticizing the singer's behavior as inappropriate. Others directed their annoyance toward the production crew, arguing that the controversial portion should have been edited out entirely rather than simply muted. As of now, neither Rahul nor Disha has issued a public statement addressing the online backlash surrounding the episode.
