Filmmaker Sonam Nair has hinted that the popular series Dupahiya on Prime Video may have a life well beyond its second season. Speaking about the show's future, Nair stated that the creative team is hopeful about carrying the narrative forward and would be completely willing to return for potential third and fourth seasons.
Reflecting on the positive public reaction, Nair noted that this favorable reception has given the creators increased confidence as they develop the franchise further. When asked directly if the team intended to extend the show into additional installments, she expressed clear optimism.
The director contrasted the atmosphere surrounding the second season with the anxiety she felt prior to the premiere of the first. While early nerves and uncertainty marked the initial launch, the team now feels a clearer understanding of what their audience expects and appreciates.
The second season features returning cast members Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma, alongside the addition of Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, known as Nirahua.
Set in the fictional rural village of Dhadakpur, known for its quirky inhabitants and small-town atmosphere, the series continues to explore eccentric local dynamics while introducing fresh challenges and larger complications for its residents in the new episodes.
